Long before the powder bath at the homestead was conceived, Mourning cut out an article from the New York Times about an abandoned home on an island off of Scotland. She then placed a bird card found at the homestead on top of the photograph to make one of many collages in 2018. Years later when envisioning her powder bath, Mourning learned that this pattern is by William Morris of the 1800’s and was one of his original designs.
