From a series created in St. Helena, California, Mourning’s self-portrait, Kill the Snake was recently commissioned on fabric for the first time. The image needed to be tested multiple times to get her just right.

Six unique 36.5 × 46 inch artist-proofs from the process are seamed and placed on a wooden dowel with brass eye hooks but can be hung and framed as you wish. Each fabric print is embroidered with it’s AP number & Rosebud Homestead.

* Photos of Kill the Snake are taken in the Aspen grove which has been cleared of fallen trees and overgrown grasses uncovering remnants of the it’s ranch days. Mourning intends to turn the grove into a spot to walk in moving meditation which will hold sculptures made from the fallen trees.
